Gosund Wireless USA Socket Testing, Review and How to Setup

Gosund makes smart sockets for different regions, EU, UK and this time we have USA socket here. Unfortunetely USA socket does not have the built-in electric meter, but everything else is as good as on other ones. It’s very small and can be controlled via “smart life” (go smart) mobile app, but also has physical button on the socket in case you want to turn it off physically, otherwise once it’s setup with your app, you can control it from anywhere in the world (as long as socket is still connected to your home Wi-Fi). It’s rated for 1200w and should automatically turn off in case of overload, while UK one is rated for 2300w and EU one is 3500w!

Gosund WiFi Smart Socket Unboxing, Review + Setup

It’s quite simple device, yet very useful! This smart wireless socket can come in handy in many situations, such as turning on coffee machine, turning your lights off ..etc and it can all be done wirelessly, Smart Life app allows you to control this socket from anywhere in the world! As long as the socket is connected to your local wifi (which you setup in the app), then your socket is always online and can be controlled under your Smart Life app account.

On video I forgot to show the part in the app that shows electrical meter. This plug is capable of showing voltage and amperage that goes through the socket and can calculate exact wattage used. Also has monthly reports that shows how much power has gone through this plug during each month, it’s really neat feature! and it’s rated for 3500 watts max, so it’s more than enough to connect your home appliances to this (cooker, coffee machine, toaster, heater ..etc)

REVIEW of Wi-Fi controlled Socket

Forgetting your coffee machine on? Coming home and heater is off? NO PROBLEM! This socket can really come in handy when you’re forgetful or want to turn on your heater before you get home. Once setup, this socket can remote be controlled via mobile app from anywhere in the world. So if you keep forgetting your coffee machine on, then with this socket, you can turn it off remotely via app from anywhere or if you want to turn your heater on before arriving home, you can do that too 🙂

Socket has a USB charging port too, however it cannot be turned off, it’s always on for as long as the socket is plugged in.
