Alxum USB3 to SATA HDD Docking & Cloning Station

Let’s take a look at this awesome Alxum USB3 (type-c) to SATA Docking & Cloning Station. This is quite basic device and shouldn’t need introduction, but here are the features. It comes with type-c connector only, but you can use a standard USB3 or USB2 (slower speeds) cable to connect it to normal USB ports. However if you want to clone your drive, then you don’t need the PC at all. I shouldn’t say “clone”, because I was told this does not support encrypted drives, which means it most likely won’t clone partitions and system info either, so it just copies all the files and won’t make the drive bootable.

This device supports 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives and can read up to 12gb drives. It has really nice button at the back to turn power on / off, most devices nowdays don’t have such cool button (clicks in / out, which indicates if it’s on or off). Also on top we see 25 – 50 – 75 – 100% that indicates how much of the drive has been copied. UK version comes with UK and EU plugs, so it’s also suitable for EU customers.

Gosund Wireless USA Socket Testing, Review and How to Setup

Gosund makes smart sockets for different regions, EU, UK and this time we have USA socket here. Unfortunetely USA socket does not have the built-in electric meter, but everything else is as good as on other ones. It’s very small and can be controlled via “smart life” (go smart) mobile app, but also has physical button on the socket in case you want to turn it off physically, otherwise once it’s setup with your app, you can control it from anywhere in the world (as long as socket is still connected to your home Wi-Fi). It’s rated for 1200w and should automatically turn off in case of overload, while UK one is rated for 2300w and EU one is 3500w!

Gosund – UK Smart Wi-Fi Plug / Socket Unboxing, REVIEW & SETUP

These smart plugs / sockets are really awesome, this specific version comes with built-in electrical meter that measures voltage and amperage (shows wattage based on volts and amps), so it truly is “smart socket”. As per usual, it can be controlled via mobile app called “Smart Life”. You can set timers and schedules and group with other devices. Smart Life app also supports alexa, google assistant and IFTTT. Smart Life app itself has built-in voice commands, but it’s quite basic and you have to “hold to speak”, but works great and recognizes text just fine.

This is UK specific plug, rated for 2300 watts max and has overload protection, it turn the plug off automatically and sends you alert in case there is overload.

It’s quite simple device, yet very useful! This smart wireless socket can come in handy in many situations, such as turning on coffee machine, turning your lights off ..etc and it can all be done wirelessly, Smart Life app allows you to control this socket from anywhere in the world! As long as the socket is connected to your local wifi (which you setup in the app), then your socket is always online and can be controlled under your Smart Life app account.

On video I forgot to show the part in the app that shows electrical meter. This plug is capable of showing voltage and amperage that goes through the socket and can calculate exact wattage used. Also has monthly reports that shows how much power has gone through this plug during each month, it’s really neat feature! and it’s rated for 3500 watts max, so it’s more than enough to connect your home appliances to this (cooker, coffee machine, toaster, heater ..etc)

Here’s a review of a very simple 10000mAh USB Power bank, it’s designed to power your phone or tablet when you’re nowhere near a charger or USB outlet, so keeping one in your pocket is a good idea .. that is ofcourse you are heavy phone user and need that extra juice!

RUIZU X02 Digital music / video player REVIEW

Here we have a really small and lightweight “mp3 player”. Not sure why people still call them mp3 players, because they can play other formats too. mp3 player name sticks from the days when they were only able to play .mp3 formats, but nowdays most of them can do almost any audio format (such as .wav .flac .mp4 ..etc) and also some video formats. X02 can also play video files and show the video on screen, good for playing music videos.

It has 8gb internal memory and expandable up to 128gb (SD card slot). Very basic player, yet good quality and somewhat easy to use. Check the video below for further details.

REVIEW of a Mini 220 volt Wi-Fi smart Switch

Here we have a mini wireless smart switch. It’s rated for 240 volts @ 5 amps max. It requires eWeLink mobile app, but can also be turned on / off manually by pressing the tiny button on top (which is real nightmare to press).

This switch is excellent for lights, but can also be used for other stuff. Just remember that 5 amps @ 240 volts = 1200 watts, so anything that takes more than 1200 watts of power would probably fry the thing.
