lets see what movies will be posted here, from my side, defiently Grudge (grudge 1). watching it in middle of the night in quiet place gives you the best experience ever.
Grudge is so much different from rest of the movies ive seen, those "ghosts" are not disgusting or ugly, but actually scary and the way they appear.
not that im really scared of the movie, it can really be considered as horror / scary movie, while those movies like paranormal activity and such are complete shit, they made me yawn

My choice Grudge 1 and grudge 2..3rd one wasn't that much as the 2 before.
Now we dont really see any good horror movies.They make movies like paranormal activity coz it takes less money to make them and they earn more.

Another good one i can say "The Exorcist"..It was good.But grudge is the only one which gave me mini heart attacks at times.

Alien for sure.

Alien ain't scary .. its just monster movie.

gues you have to watch it again :) it does have scary scenes :::P

if you mean that it can "startle" someone, then i guess so. startle as when someone jumps out of the shadows and saying "BOOO" and you are like "AAAAGHHHH" you scared me ! but im talking about SCARY movies.
movies that make you shake in your boots, that literally put fear in you, like game "fear".

those ghosts in Grudge can do just that. Alien can just startle you, if you are focused on the movie and and then bang alien jumps out and eats some brains, but it's not like anyone is afraid of the alien itself.

So what all horror is coming soon?
I saw a trailer of the upcoming movie The Devil Inside (2012)

a woman becomes involved in a series of exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother,who murdered 3 people during her own exorcism.

We wont know much for now but trailer looks good anyways :P

I didn't really mean horror movies tho, title is bit wrong i guess, should have left "horror" part out.
since this topic was meant to be about SCARIEST movies ever, scary doesn't have to be horror, but again ppl related horror and fear.
here i mean a movie that actually scared the shit out of you, not startles, but scared.

for example some weak minded ppl are afraid to watch some movies, because they have nightmare after that and getting paranoid that those things (ghosts or whatever) might actually exist and come after them.
that kind of scary.

For me The best scary movie ever is Saw.

SAW aint scary, it's just brutal, not for weak minded, but it won't scare you. at least not me.
however about 4 years ago (which ever SAW came out around that time), when it went live in cinemas in UK, then 5 people fainted in cinema lol.

i can't remember the ring at all, i know what's it about tho, might download it again.
but FEAR 1 is sure one of the scariest games :)

Grudge is remake of Japanese version Ju-On. Both are good though.
Recently saw "Chakushin Ari" japanese, translates to "One Missed Call".
I think there is a american remake to that too.
It's not scariest maybe but is quite good. I like the idea that people get call from their future self predicting their death time and how it will happen.
