I am not 100% sure that this works but in my case it worked but i hav only tested twice :P
I use camtasia studio for video so whenever i say i did this and that to video,it means in camtasia studio.
This is what I did:
First> made a video with audio so there I have:
Video-1
Audio-1
For easy understanding,i will mention the audio music as Audio-M
I did 3 things in total:
1> I removed(muted) Audio-1 and added my music to it.
2>Also with the same video,i used total video converter to "change" audio-1 with music. So basically all that is left in this one was: Video-1 and Audio-M(music)
3>I reduced the sound of Audio-1 and increased the sound of Audio-M.Thats it.So the only thing that others could hear was Audio-M.
and uploaded all 3 of them.
Result:
In first one they muted my audio.
2nd one also muted my audio.
3rd one everything was fine.
I tested just the 3rd one with another video with a different music and still it was not muted.I dont understand how all this works, but cant say anything until someone else can test it too.And if someone else know more of it or how all these scanning works on youtube,i want to know.

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
bonehead, youtube scans for the media TAG within the file including filename. doing what you did changes nothing. you might have got lucky or scan might have been delayed.
it also might use the "track ID". it means it scans for the actual song, like that software (mostly sony ericssons use it and its called track ID).

Got lucky again :P

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
i had my videos up for like 6 months before they got flagged for copyright, youtube is quite big site so their system might be busy or maybe its not copyright all the way. they change their site every day.
if they use Track ID then they detect any music 100%, unless its mixed with video sounds (if its game, then with game noises and sounds..etc). trackID is very accurate, even when ppl talk on background it can still reconize the music clip.

Thats wat i was doing with camtasia.I was mixing audio from video and music -.-Sethioz wrote:if they use Track ID then they detect any music 100%, unless its mixed with video sounds.
My video has been up for more than 1 year now,not deleted still, but when i used that same music file with other method,it got muted as soon as it finished processing.

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
1 year ago ? i tought you made the test like few days ago.
never the less, this explains. youtube's scanning method wasnt so strict back then, they didnt use track ID. you're not listening what track ID is.
it LISTENS to music, it doesnt scan anything. same thing that sony ericsson phones use. you enable it and let it listen to music. im not talking about in phone music, im talking about ANY music you hear playing, either if its from your pc, in shoppimg mall on street, whereever. it listens it and gives you the song name, thats what Track ID is.
in other words, if human can reconize the song, so can track id, keeping in mind that in extreme cases it doesnt work. if there's too much talking or other sounds on top of it, it probably wont reconize it. if you have SE phone or any other with track ID, test and see.
i havent checked, maybe there is track ID for pc too.
youtube didnt use trackID back then, because when i added video, it didnt say anything, but now when you add video with copyright song, it gets muted instantly (most of the cases). i had about 8 videos that got raped afterwards.

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
I told u long ago about that one. After that i could not use youtube so never tested it again. Now i tested it again few days back and its working.Maybe u r right about their security being weak back then. But for me this thing is still working.I hav only got my one video muted, more than 1 year ago on my real channel.I used different channel for this testing.Sethioz wrote:1 year ago ? i tought you made the test like few days ago.

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
and on top of that, you should consider the human factor. if somebody reports it, then it will get fucked for sure. best way is NOT to include any copyright songs.
however most gay thing about gaytube is that if you add one of their "partner" track as background music (partner tracks as the ones you can choose from swap audio), then they STILL mute it and say copyright. i was like WHAT ???
one of them being 009 sound system. i tested it myself, i added it as background music and they raped it, saying copyright. all i did, was "audio swap" and put the SAME song there and then its not copyright ? what gayness.

Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
kids cant report anything, it has to be person who's material it is or their employee. its up to you if you want to risk losing your account. audio violations usually result in notification, if you take no action or claim its not copyright (but it is and they can prove it), then they give you warning. 3 warnings = permanent ban.
Re: Youtube - using copyrighted music
I thought the most that can happen is the video being deleted.Never thought of loosing channel.I will put music on video if i want to but if i get some mail or some shit, then i'll remove it.I doubt....I will upload a video on testing channel and see what all they can do and how much time it takes for them to take some action. The owner will sue me if he/she is from america? XD
