How to run Yahoo Messanger on Proxy?

I am using Windows XP. I have installed latest version of Yahoo Messenger (10.0.0.1270).
I am using Internet with Dial-up connection using Proxy with authentication.
i am unable to connect Yahoo Messenger
When i sign in, it says We cant sign you in to yahoo Messenger!
Ok, so i changed Preference to "Connect via proxy server" in HTTP Proxy, i fill details with username and password.
Same error! It gives error "Possible Problem with HTTP Connection.

Please check log and help me!

never used dial-up, it should work normally.
you can use sockscap or proxyfirewall, but i dont think it helps. dial-up cannot be used as proxy, it gives a normal internet connection.
does your browser work properly, without any special settings ?

My browser only works properly when i enter manual proxy configuration settings such as proxy,port username and password, so only i can connect to internet.

in this case use same settings in yahoo, but as i understood correctly, you already tried and it didnt work.
uhm im not sure, im bit confused atm, but its 100% possible via proxyfirewall and/or sockscap
sockscap should support password protected proxies.
so it would be like this:
sockscap connects into dial-up (using your password and stuff) > sockscap runs the messenger via that proxy

if sockscap doesnt work, try proxyfirewall.
