I don't get it, why so many devs are half braindead and don't understand that not everyone wants to play with some dildo controls?
for example lot of real racers (like myself) use LEFT FOOT for braking and RIGHT FOOT for accelerating, Schumacher was on of them aswell. i mostly do this with automatic transmission, when i drive normal car with manual, then i use right foot for accel/brake, but with automatic i always use left foot, because it's more efficient and reaction time is much faster.
when racing with a car that doesn't have clutch (automatic or semi-manual), then i always use left foot for braking.
same way i use 2 ANALOGS in racing games, because it gives me much more control over throttle/brake. i grew up on games like gran turismo and they used LEFT ANALOG = steering and RIGHT ANALOG = accel/brake, this is how i want to play!
but nowdays lot of devs are forcing those dildo controls where you have to use triggers for accel/brake, this is SO STUPID! it's inefficient.
let me explain this in detail, it's not just about getting used to it, it's actually bad even if you grew up on those dildo controls.
think of it this way, have you ever tried taking a photo with camera or phone that requires you to press a physical button?
have you noticed how pressing that button will give it that final "shake" and often that causes photo to go out of focus or blurry, it's the way your fingers work, it's difficult moving just one finger without making minor movement with your entire hand.
it's same principle as why most gun experts say "squeeze the trigger, don't pull", because same physics apply there.
when squeezing the trigger, it gives you smooth motion and you don't "shake/jerk" the gun while doing so
but pulling the trigger will cause that shake/jerk motion that will throw the gun off it's target.
it's even same with mouse, if your hand is not properly resting on table, then single mouse click will make your hand move just before you click the button.
This same thing happens when using triggers for accel/brake, but when using it on RIGHT ANALOG, you don't have this jerk/shake motion, because analog moves smoothly. it also prevents you from hitting accel and brake at same time, which is very important in racing.
ofcourse steering wheel and pedals works better than analog controller and gives you more precise control, but analog controller is good enough for breaking records.
That's why it makes me so mad when devs are forcing some dildo controls. for example lot of NFS (need for speed) games are doing that.
Carx Street is one of them aswell, they lock you into some dildo controls and crew and crew 2 were doing that aswell, but they changed it.
while triggers are good for casual games like gta, where you can use right analog for look around, in racing triggers are just inferior to analogs, which is why it's extremely bad practice for devs to lock controls, JUST WHY???
give players full freedom to map whatever they want! why you lock controls to your primitive dildo controls? it's like trying to force someone to swap hands when eating with fork and knife.
i hold fork in right hand and knife in left btw. when using only knife to prepare food, like cut potatoes, meat ..etc, then i hold knife in right hand. i do this, because i use most optimal way. now imagine if someone tries to force you to hold knife and fork opposite of what you're used to?
or if someone forces you to write with your other hand or write with your feet, wouldn't work, would it? ofc it's possible to learn, but WHY? let people use whichever controls they want!
i just brought those examples, because this is how i feel when trying to play a game that locks controls to some ineffective dildo nonsense.

BUT WHY do we have to go thru this nightmare? why can't devs just let players use whichever controls they want? this shit is really getting on my nerves, i wanted to get carx street, but learned that it also forces players to using some dildo controls.

message from Nitros Ghost Oxide to game devs --- STOP FORCING YOUR DILDO CONTROLS ON PLAYERS! just cuz you're casual sunday evening beer hero touching buttons, doesn't mean everyone is! Not just racing, but EVERY GAME should allow players to fully remap controls, perhaps apart from ESC as it might cause some noob to get stuck in menus if they remap the button that goes out of menu.
WHY lot of driving/racing games have no way to remap controls / no custom binds/controls?!
