windows 10 vs windows 11 - do you even know what the difference is?

Post by Sethioz »

i see lot of idiots who are parroting and faffaffing like zombies "win 11 win11 win 11, must get get win11" or like "windows 11 better, lol you still on win10?" ..etc

but when you ask any of those idiots, what the difference is? then they just stand and roll their eyes.
some of them manage to mumble out a word "faster" or something like "is better, yes" or most idiotic thing they can say is "it's newer" or something similar, but they don't actually know what they're even saying.

win11 is full of spyware, it's always online and it requires you to use microsoft account, which will sync your personal files with cloud. it means microsoft is in control of your data, not you.
it's stated in windows 11 microsoft terms that by using win11, you give microsoft right to collect and use your data, such as:

Data Collection:
Microsoft collects various types of data, including system information, usage statistics, device activity, and potentially, personal information (like passwords and BitLocker recovery keys, if synced). This is mostly for improving services, troubleshooting, and enhancing security, but it can also be used by law enforcements or other agencies who operate under governments.

Rights to Data:
Microsoft’s terms include clauses that allow them to use data for their services, such as syncing, diagnostics, and personalization.
BitLocker recovery keys and other sensitive data may be stored on Microsoft's servers, and they may have access to it if the user opts to sync or store data in the cloud.

User Consent:
By using Windows 11 and agreeing to the terms, you give Microsoft permission to collect and process this data, although there are privacy settings to limit or block some of this (e.g., telemetry settings).
Some data collection is mandatory, especially for system improvement and security, and can’t be fully disabled (such as basic telemetry in Home/Pro versions).

Is there anything better on win11 than on win10?
there are only couple of things that seem better on win11, but it's rather insignificant

1. directstorage: it improves game loading times by optimizing the process on how data is loaded from storage drive to GPU, but who cares? games installed on SSDs have basically non existing load times as it is, are you really going to whine over few second load times? even on HDD loading times for new games are very short. also this only works on games that support it, at this point, only very few games support it, so this feature is insignificant and not important at all.

2. auto-HDR: this requires compatible hardware, it improves visuals for older games, but not by much. again this is rather insignificant feature.

3. improved scheduler for hyprid CPUs: this feature only works on CPUs that support this. some modern CPUs have different cores, some are performance cores and some are efficiency cores (for background tasks), win11 has improved scheduler that is better able to schedule tasks based on what they need to do, in other words some background will run by taking less power. for example on win10 the win defender anti-virus can sometimes suck a lot of CPU power, i had to disable it on my media laptop as it's only dual-core with 3gb RAM and it was constantly making entire laptop lag .. but in this case win11 wouldn't help, cuz that laptop doesn't have capable CPU.
in other words, this is very insignificant feature, because any CPU that has hybrid architecture, is easily powerful enough to manage all of those tasks without any lag. it does do things more efficiently, but difference is too small for human to even notice. like if some background task takes bit more power, it can cause other program to load slightly slower, but if your program starts in 0.8 seconds instead of 1 second, does it really matter?

4. native android app support via microsoft store: this is only good feature i can think of in win11, however you can easily run android apps on win10 by using emulator such as bluestacks. i agree that native app support is good thing to have, but is it significant enough to lose all your data over a reinstall? NO, it is not!

Those very few good things on win11 don't outweight all the nonsense and bad that exists on win11, so as a PC expert with over 25 years of experience in computer field, i'm telling you that win11 is NOT worth installing nor using, there are too many annoyances and nonsense, such as all this spyware stuff and data collection.
also win11 requires secure boot and it has other stuff that is very intrusive.
win11 is not suppose to be upgrade, reason why they are giving it for FREE, is because world is changing, they have no control over the internet content, so they are trying to control it from inside. it's just matter of time til darkweb users will start getting caught only cuz they're on win11, mark my words, they have enough spyware in win11 that can probably spy on Tor browser users.
win11 isn't suppose to make your data more secure, it's suppose to give microsoft control over their users. they just threw in few improvements to show sheeple that it's "better".

win xp is still the best windows ever, it was made in perfect time, where people weren't thinking about world domination and control, but they focused on performance and efficiency. win xp gave users so much control, you was able to do lot of things that you can't do on win 7 and later versions. win 7 wasn't too bad, but 8 and onwards it got bad.
i'm on win10 myself, but i have put lot of time and effort in customizing it and i don't mean change color scheme .. i'm talking about removing things like windows update that intrusively keeps updating and doing shit on background, disabling all telemetry and other online services ..etc.
my win10 cannot be controlled by microsoft, i have disabled everything that might give them remote access.

when something is free, you know they have some other interest. microsoft basically is the government, don't think for a second that they don't spy on people. win11 is a big scam to make people's personal lives more transparent, that's why they giving it for free.

i might get win11 when some communities make proper tools to disable all this spyware on win11, also i must be able to install it without secure boot, otherwise i'm never going to use it.

if you're on win10 or win11, then here's a good tip for you: use O&O Shut Up 10++
it's really good anti-spy tool, minimalistic and free. it's a simple .exe file, no installation, no bullshit, just like how good programs should be!
it's super easy to use aswell, i strongly recommend it.

other tool i recommend is windows 10 firewall control
it's minimalistic, yet powerful firewall. NO, it's not same as built-in firewall. this one will give you alert when ANY program tries to connect to internet, then you get a choice to block or allow, it also has custom rules and options, like "lan only".
however free version doesn't allow you to block windows services, so you might need to get a crack or buy it if you want to block windows services, but even free version is totally worth using.
