Since cannabis is legal in many countries now and 99% of people don't seem to know how to even use it, then i thought i'll write a little guide in here.
in fact most people do it so wrong that it makes me mad watching them struggle with something that simple.
NOTE - this method only works on cannabis flower / buds, not on gummies, oils or other cannabis products
DO NOT:
- roll it in any kind of paper
- mix with tobacco or anything else
- burn cannabis with direct flame
most people do those 3 things wrong already, ofcourse it gets you bit high, but it's extremely ineffective method and personally i hate tobacco, cigars or any kind of "smokes" that are rolled into paper, so rolling is bad idea.
BEST / most effective way of smoking cannabis flowers / buds is to use a small pipe.
here's what i've been doing for long time:
+ get a small metal pipe (i'm using body of old pen, it's made of metal)
+ take small piece of tinfoil and fold it 2-3 times (it should be enough to cover the end of pipe and have some extra on each side)
+ take a retractable pen or anything else that can push the tinfoil inside the pipe without breaking it
+ push tinfoil slightly into the pipe, forming a "bowl" shape. it doesn't have to be deep, about 0.5cm is enough, then fold excess tinfoil over the edges so tinfoil won't fall out and bowl has to be big enough to hold weed so it won't fall out when holding pipe horizontally.
+ now take a needle and poke some holes in it, not too close together, but enough so they don't get blocked by ash
+ now either use grinder or any other method to break weed into smaller pieces. don't fully grind it, just slightly so it's small bits and not powder. big pieces are bad. slightly grinded is best
+ put a small piece into the pipe. how big you ask? it should be small enough that you can inhale without any of it escaping (no smoke or smell in air)
+ put pipe in your mouth and hold it slightly upwards so nothing falls out.
+ first fully exhale, then slowly start inhaling thru the pipe (slowly and gently), quickly light a lighter (or use candle) and slowly start moving pipe closer to flame, but don't directly expose cannabis to flame (don't burn it), instead hold it slightly further from flame, so it doesn't start burning, but it starts smoking instead.
do this til cannabis is no longer smoking, when you feel that you can no longer inhale, then 2-3 seconds before that, you can expose entire "bowl" to flame to make sure it all burned, but its not necessary.
+ do not exhale instantly, keep it in your lungs for at least 20 seconds, if you can hold breathe longer, then go for it. 30-40 seconds is even better.
+ now exhale
+ tap the pipe on your palm and check if there are any unburned pieces, if there's anything left, drop it back for a next "hit" or if you're done, then put it back with rest of cannabis as those unburned bits still have some potential.
if you see any smoke going into air at any point, it means you're doing it wrong. if you exhale smoke, then it means you used too big piece or didn't hold it in lungs for long enough (if you held 30+ seconds and still see smoke, then piece is too big). if smoke goes into air while smoking it, then it means you're putting too much into pipe or burning it too fast or inhaling too slowly.
adjust this technique til you have your sweet-zone where you use just perfect amount that you can easily inhale without any smoke escaping.
There are multiple reasons why this works so well:
1) directly burning cannabis will destroy lot of its potential
2) if there's no smoke when exhaling, it means all the smoke was absorbed by your lungs
3) when no smoke escapes into air at all, it means all the cannabis you burn, ends up in your lungs
this means that you will be using only about 10% cannabis to get the same high as with normal dumb methods (like by mixing with tobacco and rolling it).
i guess if you're rich and don't care that you spend 100 a month instead of 10 on smoking, then i guess it doesn't matter, but i hate wasting and i'm not rich, so coming from 100 to 10 is a big win. i don't see why i would want to waste 90 a month for no reason at all.
Instead of pipe, you can use a small bong aswell, but i think filtering it thru water reduces the effect. some say it might be healthier, but weed haven't caused me any lung or other health issues as it's much cleaner than tobacco.
another reason why weed don't usually cause health issues, is cuz you need much smaller amount for decent effect, so you'll end up smoking like 100 times less.
i use maybe about 1 gram per month by using this method and i usually smoke every day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. that's how effective it is!
Decarboxylation - make cannabis even more effective!
this is a process of removing carbon dioxide from whatever contains it.
it's mostly just called "decarb" aka "decarbing weed" aka "decarbing cannbis"
i actually didn't pay much attention to it either, but i recently tried and it's worth it.
for BEST results you need proper equipment, but you can do it at home, here's simplest (but not most effective) method:
+ preheat oven to 105-115c (best to start at 105c, if your oven doesn't have precise temperature, then you need thermometer or any other method to measure exact temp that occurs in middle of oven, i used food thermometer and a knife, i put knife into oven and heated it for about 30 mins, then measured its temp, but it's still not accurate, altho good enough).
+ slightly grind cannabis / thcp (or whatever cannabis product you have)
+ place grinded cannabis on non-stick oven paper or tinfoil (might stick to tinfoil)
+ now put it in middle of oven where temp is about 105-115c
+ cook it for about 30 mins, but if you're unsure, keep your eye on it so it won't start burning
if there's strong smell, then heat is too high and most likely you already ruined the batch.
you know you've done it right, when cannabis turns into brown, but not dark brown or black, that's already ruined.
it has to look brown, light brown to brown is good.
i literally did this in small oven, but i know it's NOT accurate method, therefore it's not best method, but its more effective than compared to non decarbed cannabis. even good ovens have fluctating temps and it's hard to measure exactly.
you can also use air fryer, but you have to seal cannabis so fast moving air doesn't blow it all over the place nor burn it.
i haven't tried, but i think it should work better if you put cannabis into tinfoil (make a proper container, not just twist it) and make sure it's spread out and not in small ball or anything. kind of like 2 layers of tinfoil and cannabis spread evenly between it, then stick corners of tinfoil between the air fryer basket / grill so it won't move or just put some spoons or knives on edges so it won't fly around in there.
BEST PART about decarbed cannabis, is that you can directly eat it! you can smoke it in same way as described above aswell. is decarbing cannabis really worth it? YES it is, it's hard for me to test as i don't always get same high from same amount, but it surely feels about 50% more powerful.
even if decarbing was done bit wrong, it's still better than not decarbed.
If you smoke a lot and want to decarb properly, then look up decarbing devices on amazon and ebay, they're usually like 70 - 300 dollars. there's also some magic decarb box, but it's only a box with remote thermometer, so you can put cannabis into that box and then monitor it's internal temp accurately, but it doesn't change the fact that oven temps are fluctuating.
anyway stop being part of sheeple and do it right! be more effective and scientific, i remember how some people laughed when i said that smoking weed effectively is science, those idiots wasted so much weed with their primitive methods and they didn't even realize it.
