Beyond: Two Souls - Mod - Remove Black Bars (fullscreen mod)

What to play? Is it worth it? Where to buy? Which settings should i use? Which PC do I need for what game? How to record gameplay? In other words, anything gaming related.

Beyond: Two Souls - Mod - Remove Black Bars (fullscreen mod)

Post by Sethioz »

Everyone who have played this game, know that there are those annoying black bars, making it suitable for ultra wide screens only, however those black bars are put there only to annoy you, under those black bars, everything is visible. so by removing them, you get a nice full screen gameplay + cutscenes!

I also know about the drama / scandal that is going on around the nude shower scene, well i checked the shower scene without the black bars and she's still wearing her underwear under the shower, so whatever was done to get those nude scenes, had to be some sort of model hack, not only a camera hack (like many suggest).

Anyway, why the fuck put those black bars there in the first place? who would want to play in a tiny area, if you can have it on full screen???? idiots ... i mean seriously.

How to get it? well im not sure if its legal to upload modded files, so for now i have not included the hacked file here. you can torrent it or just leave a reply here if you're interested and i can send it to you.

its eboot not reboot ...
if you downloaded it from torrent, it should have come with instructions, you simply have to replace the file with modded one, that's it.
I think it's in game/usrdir or something like that, it's where all the game updates go, not the default /GAMES/ folder. as i said, if you got it from a torrent, it surely has intructions where you should place the file.

Hi there!

I downloaded a black bar remover, and it has a file in it named Eboot. However it does not come with any instructions. I am a complete noob and have never done anything like this before, could you please tell me what I need to do with the file, and how I get it into the right place on my PS3? I've got a memory stick that I can use to transfer it over - but I've no idea what I'm supposed to copy, where to put it, how to access the place where I need to put it and what I need to replace. Could you please give me an idiot-friendly explanation?

It's pretty much explained in my previous reply.

You need to replace the original EBOOT.BIN in your PS3
Not the one that is in BCUS98298/USRDIR, but the one that is in Updates (not sure about the folder).
I think it should be game/usrdir or something. Can't bother booting up my PS3 atm, but you can just look thru folders and see where is eboot.bin

However if your PS3 is not jailbroken, i can't really help. I don't know what can be used to transfer files into correct locations, i don't think that stock PS3 allows you to run any file managers. You'd have to google for that, if there is a way to run file manager on stock PS3.
On mine, i just run MultiMan and use FTP.
