Aliens versus Predator 2 Source Code - Anybody have this?

Hello everyone! New here. So I've read and heard you guys had been giving those guys that run those AvP2 Master Server a real big headache, well good for them. I think they more or less deserved it at this point for being rude when I asked about the AvP2 Source Code.

One other thing, I am truly sorry if this isn't the correct section of the forums to ask about or make a request for this as I really don't know where else it should belong. But if it is in the wrong section then please move this thread to the proper location on these forums, thank you.

Anyways, yes, I'm looking for the AvP2 Source Code.

Does anyone here have it or know someone who may have it and is willing to share it?

I'm not really getting my hopes up too high, but I was only presuming that if you, Sethioz is able to hack AvP2 so well maybe you might have that very very difficult to find and very very rare AvP2 Source Code, but then again I could be completely wrong anyhow. Maybe someone here knows something about it and know where to get it from. Again I am only presuming either Sethioz or someone here may know or have it, and even then I am not getting my hopes up that you guys are absolutely gonna help me and give me a download of it.

I'm interested in having this code for really 2 reason, the first have it just to have it, such as archival and collecting. it happens because it's so rare and hard to find, I really want it. But I'm no coder nor do I have a good understanding of source codes other than what I think they are really good for. That's the second reason.

2nd reason being, and that is, well let's put it this way because I know a coder that might be able help and create a Source Port Update for that the game.

I'm sure you all know about that right? Kind of like how the old DOS classic FPS games like Doom and Duke Nukem 3D got their updated source ports eventually after their respective source codes had been released to the public.

It's just something I've always hoped and and really really wanted to see moreso ever since the newer 2010 AvP Game and Aliens Colonial Marines NEVER had any SDK Toolkit or Custom Map Editor/Maker of some kind released for their respective communities. I feel that is just such a real big let down to me and shame how Sega, Rebellion and Gearbox treated the franchise and the community by dropping support and gone dead cold silent after just a couple of Game Update Patches and mediocre DLC releases for their games.

I can tell that they really never gave a flying fuck about the franchise any more than the fans. All they cared about if any at all was make the quick profits and ditch everybody that spend money on their rushed-out games. It had always been about those $$$ results. Sorry for the rant, back on topic.

However I can't do that without that source code and it seems to be really really rare and hard to find. I had been looking for it for over 2 years now.

I find that the AvP2 game itself is more common and easier to locate. I've even search multiple torrent sites for the source code, but still nothing. I'm not really going to get my hopes up, since if it had been shared via bittorrent before then maybe more people have it by now, but hey you never know unless you try right?

Also I have already tried and request for it before at several AvP related forums but they said it's forbidden to share it and is unwilling to help me.

Yet, I have no idea why they would still forbid sharing of just the source code since the game is no longer widely available and yet the source code isn't even close to or same exact thing as requesting a copy of the game itself or hacks or cracks for the game itself. So I am Not understanding what harm can it actually really do when all I want to do is try and see if a source port can be made with it.

They tell me it was pulled by Monolith and Sierra, and had been revoked. But I mean, AvP2 is more than a decade old and is unsupported entirely now by them anyway, so I have no idea if somebody at those avp forum communities actually have it and is selfishly withholding it, or maybe they don't actually have it either.

But from what I've known it is through this Source Code somebody was able to save the Multiplayer component of the game by implementing new Master Servers, so that's already a sign that something good could be done with it but why stop just at that?

Read elsewhere the code would enable it much easier for someone to hack the game, possibly multiplayer, but that' of no interest to me. Personally I gave up on playing online multiplayer games long ago, would rather play locally via LAN instead. Rather instead I'm much more have interest in things like Source Ports, new custom single player campaigns or maps/levels, various other gameplay type of mods, and also when talented coders manage to port some older Windows PC/DOS games onto other various Homebrew-Enabled Consoles or different operating systems such as Linux, Android, and iOS.

Sorry for being so wordy, but if anybody can or is willing to help me, I really appreciate it. Thank you.

The Aliens Versus Predator 2 (AVP2) Source Code v1.0.9.6 is not officially supported by Monolith Productions, Inc. or Fox Interactive. If you plan to modify the AVP2 Source Code it is assumed that you have a good understanding of the AVP2 tools and how Monolith games work (i.e., you have worked with the NOLF, Shogo or Blood 2 source code).

NOTE: The source code is specifically designed to work with AVP2 version 1.0.9.6. Using modifications made with it on older versions of AVP2 may lead to unpredictable results.

One other thing forgot to mention. From this video:

you can see that somebody had done what I was interested in and talking about; somebody put the original AvP Gold's Source Code to good use once they got it they somehow manage to make a port of it on the original X-Box.

So this video had me thinking about AvP2 ported to other systems or operating systems for a long time.

But why stop just at AvP Gold if AvP2's source code had been released at one point? Despite being revoked, wouldn't something like this be possible in the future for AvP2 also since it's Source Code had been released too? I guess the author of that X-Box port of AvP Gold don't have the AvP2 source code, otherwise we may see AvP2 running on Jailbroken PS3s, and maybe Linux, Android and iOS devices eventually.

Hmm... are you a master server admin in disguise? Who are you? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though. The source code WAS released a few years ago but was revoked and made "illegal" to post. I am sure finding it will be a royal pain in the arse. If you truly searched for it on search engines I thought you'd know this. Regardless, unless you can find some obscure torrent for it, you're out of luck.

Shit, you did mention you knew the code was revoked. My mistake. Sorry I can't be of further help, but that's all I know regarding the source code to the game. Looks like it was buried deeply.

That's a good question. You thought this would be some kind of sting ops? I find it funny you'd even ask that question. But Nope, not even close.

Just read the last parts of my post about regarding how I genuinely really do not care or have any real amount of interest in multiplayer games any more. This goes for pretty much all games, new and old. The only exception is unless a friend invites me over to his place to play a LAN game or match but this had not happened for more than 10 years now since they've all grown up, moved onto other places, or got hitched, or died.

Yes, and about that "illegal" to post part.

Speaking of that how big of a difference is that compared to those that post links or upload a full warez'd copy of that game. Wouldn't that be more or less the same. And I really do not care about getting a warez copy of the game since it's easy enough to locate and besides I still own the legit original discs for AvP2 and AvP2's Expansion pack- Primal Hunt.

So is there really that big of a difference regarding the legal part of it since the game had been more or less abandoned by Monolith and Sierra long ago and since both of them are no longer together but rather now owned by other bigger corporations (Time Warner owns Monolith now, and Activision owns Sierra Entertainment).

Of course if they had re-release that damn AvP2 code sometime before dropping support altogether, then I wouldn't have to go through all this, sigh.........

ok I do have to give them credit for eventually releasing a SDK Toolkit for AvP2 and even giving it an update patch, but not re-releasing the source code was just unbelievably ridiculous if they are gonna completely abandon and stop support AvP2, they could have at least done so when deciding to complete remove and shut down those "Master" Servers. But nope, they just didn't give a shit.

Yes, you are right even on torrents I've search thoroughly multiple locations nothing came up, so I was very surprised that throughout the years no one continued shared it and spread it widely non-stop there, since typically when things like things are covered up or revoked by companies and corporations, someone would refuse to follow and refused to be silenced on such matters. So I only assume no one actually shared it there despite all those years had gone by.

Yes they did revoke it, but because that it is infamus for that and it's rarity also makes me really want to archive and collect it. Thanks for the response in torrent forums I got nothing not even a response, nadda, zip there. It's like the Holy Grail AvP2 File that no one really dares or wants to share once they have it.

If Monolith has not released the source code, then you can't get it. Based on what you said, i assume it has leaked or been given out, google is your best friend, cuz this is what i would do myself.
I have some old extracted files, but this is not source. far from it.
