since .arc format came up here recently. i tought ill post about it. I havent done any research about them, but it seems that it really is that .arc format that was originally used in MS-DOS.
it seems that Eidos Interactive uses it to pack game content. if im correct then ''devil may cry'' series is made by Eidos and they all use .arc formats. ''Just Cause'' is also Eidos and it uses .arc formats too. .arc = archive

those may help too. so as i understand it is simply a archive, but its not some universal archive you just unpack.

I asked Luigi about .arc. he suggested me to use ''game extractor''
it seem to be working quite ok on just cause. it was able to extract .arc files.
i will add it into downloads section !
