Windows 7 - how to turn off hibernation and save hdd space

Post by Sethioz »

1. run cmd (if you do not know how, read Command Prompt article)
- also in gay 7 it has to be ran as administrator, so its gay

2. type the following command (and press enter ofc)

Code: Select all

powercfg.exe /hibernate off
you are done, it also should delete hidden and protected file called hiberfil.sys located on your system drive.
if not, you can safely delete it later. the size of the file is the size of the ram you was using before last hibernation. just waste of space if you ask me, mine was 2.4gb ..ugh
