Winamp - how to increase stream buffer size

This becomes necessary if you have bad or unstable connection.

Options > Preferences > Plug-ins > Input > MPEG Audio decoder (highlight it)
now click on "configure" button below.
then go to "Streaming" tab
there you can increase the buffer size

NOTE that if you increase the buffer size, you must lower the prebuffer or you will have to wait a long time before it prebuffers to some percantage and then starts playing. this happens, because if your buffer is 100kbytes, then 10% of it is 10kbytes, which can be downloaded in 0.1 seconds using 100kb/s connection, but if buffer size is increased to 5000kbytes, then 10% of it is 500kbytes, which means you need to wait 5 seconds using 100kb/s connection.
