Hey,its me again
wanted to know if sethioz can do something about this online game PokerTH (http://www.pokerth.net/content/view/16/60/) its a cool online game and its also played in the ESL. would be cool if you can come up with some cheats for it that maybe will work out in online gaming ( like seeing the opponents cards etc. )

MOVED and RENAMED (from "Hacking - PokerTH?") - try posting into right topic, it is hack discussion, not preview, review, discussion..etc about it. all hack discussions goes into hacking ... sub-forum. also start the topic with the NAME of the game (so other ppl can easily find it)

Wouldn't that be nice. Ill take a look at it, but i've already have pokerstars (pokerstars.com) in mind. i guess i do not have enought motivation for that, hold up is in in the https connection. i am not able to 'see' data in the way i want to see it. stunnel is one of the programs that should be able to show https before it is encrypted, but it is not as easy as using normal proxy. you have to manually setup everything (destination ip, port, source ip, port...etc), and its far from easy.

for sure you CAN see opponents cards. im not sure about all online poker's, but in some of them it is really possible. now question comes up, WHY they dont fix it ?! well why should they ? its not like you stealing money from their account...ppl put money in game and they lose it one way or other way. developers DOES NOT care if somebody loses his/her money to a hacker or to normal player, developers still get their % when ppl take out their money from poker account.
ofcourse do not beliave those stupid sites that claim they can do such things and then they sell it, those are fake for sure. also sites that claim that their 'program' or 'patch' (idiots) connects directly to opponent pc. those are just some bluffing idiots trying to make ppl pay them for nothing.
I posted a good example HERE of one of those retarded idiots who just bluff some shit...this idiot doesn't even know what he/she talks about.

UPDATE:
umm i tought it is poker where you can use real money too, but it seems very basic and it does not use secure connection. I just checked the protocol real quick. If you host the game, then im quite sure that you CAN see others cards, by simply checking the packets.

well i only took a quick look and protocol does not seem to be encrypted or compressed so its very easy to just look in them.
you can use CommView for that purpose. i tried to monitor "pokerth.exe" but on some reason pokerTH does not use pokerth.exe to communicate. You can also use WPE pro, but its quite crap if it comes to analyzing packets, commview is better.

alright ive installed CommView but does not seem that easy to use it in this hacking way. And im not quite sure how to use it for getting other's cards. So maybe you have the patience enough to tell me exactly how should i do it.

well go to 'rules' tab and use the process rule. try to capture only pokerth.exe. for me it didnt work and i had other programs running so i couldnt bother to capture all and then filter them. you just capture the packets and filter them with rules to get only what you want.

I was thinking about it and wrote a basic tutorial on how to use commview.
as about the "pokerth.exe" process, yes thats what i said. i had same error. probably it either uses your system to send packets OR commview doesn't detect the process.
you should try other filtering options which i kinda covered in that tutorial. anyways the tutorial is here:

I dont know for me it just doesnt work and i dont really see how is this supposed to help me see his cards like..lol either i missunderstood something either i do something wrong. Did you test it yourself and it worked?

How do you think applications communicate ?
you capture the packets which are used for communication between server and client.
What do you think how does cards get to the clients (in case you are server).

no i did not test it. i don't like to test in random servers and/or with random ppl, because results will be unconclusive. Since it is free game and not for real money, im guessing that packets are not encrypted. so it means that everything is shown.

hey Sethioz! I`ve join your forum just to ask you...I know this topic is old but there is no point in making another one...
so I`me a pokerth player too and I`ve read your tutorial about commview which I think it should be updated. I did exactly as you told there and I can`t read the text from the packets...I`m getting weird code or some shit...like this:

I tried searching for Strings like: Flop, River, Turn, One Pair, Two Pairs etc EVERYTHING! even player names or actions...and all I was getting was "Search string not found!"... this is how packet looks like, nothing strange there. if it would as easy as you want it to be, then every kid would hack pokerTH.
i dont need any examples, i have pokerTH and i have looked into it already. packets seem to be encrypted. in order to decrypt them, obviously you need to debug pokerTH and find the encryption key, then wireshark has feature to decrypt traffic on the fly using encryption key (i think, i never used wireshark myself).

I`ve just remembered why I hate software engineering...its full of fucking numbers and mind blowing crap...

I`ve downloaded the source of the game from their site...I think I can use it with Visual Studio 10 to find that fucking encryption key...I`m finding commview more easy to use than wireshit... what do I do next when I get that key?

thats something new, i never knew it has source code available. link to source code ?
with source i might be able to make some hacks.
commview really is a lot easier, however i dont think it has feature to decrypt packets on the fly.

i asked Luigi about it, he said proxocket could do it, but its not that simple. he also said that quickBMS can decrypt saved packets (like .cap file).
obviously you need encryption key and also i cant help with details. never tried myself.
