I have this printer and the it shows that the black ink is empty.
I only printed like 5-6 pages black / White
and 2-3 color.
I tried a new black cartridge and it still shows that the black cartrige is empty.
Any suggestions?

i assume you have tried the usual stuff, yes ? (reboot everything, power off, keep power off for 1-2 mins ...etc) ?

if yes, then check the cartridge holder, maybe there's some sort of "debris" in the way. also check your cartridge, maybe ink have leaked little bit and it won't get solid connection and thinks its out.
there's also possibility that your "new" cartridge is fucked, maybe its dried out or something, not sure how you can check if its fine, but its possibility.

If you think that your old cartridge was not empty, then think when and how the fault generated itself. what did you do, did you print something and it stopped, did you power off your stuff and next time it didnt work?
try finding out why it stopped working, might give you an idea where to start.

I found the problem, it's the cartridges itself. Not mine but all cartridges from Epson.
with 91N version they claim to print 170 pages but in usual print around 20. Shit load of waste money.
Even when I print Black / White, all the other 3 colors get drained too, not a little but by far too much.

The only solution to this is to buy a refillable cartridge that will work with this printer I guess. Looking for it now.

Stay away from Epson, specially the TX series.. TX101,121.. etc.

sometimes you need to use some common sense .. how exactly color cartridge gets empty if you only use black ink?
i mean, where does it go? this is not age of magic, if it's empty, it had to drain somehow, you sure you don't have a huge leak under printer? if not .. then it's not possible for ink to just disappear, it has to go somewhere, unless it mixes it somehow? then again, you should be able to tell easily.

take out color cartridge and try printing black/white only. this doesn't make sense really lol

Epson TX series and cartridges are shit really.
It's not just me.
I have NO idea where the other color inks go even while printing Black / White. There is no leak. If I can figure where this ink magically disappears then maybe the printer will be of some use.

> Also when any of the colored ink goes out, printer won't even allow to print black / white (No idea if its just with Epson or other printers too since I don't have any other printer). If anyone have any other printer then maybe they can answer.

The quality of prints are pretty badass no doubt but the Ink prices and maintenance of it blows the quality away.
The cartridges are not refillable.

I think its software, not hardware.
every printer should allow black&white print if color is out, maybe there is some option that mixes the colors and this is why it won't allow black&white if color is out.
maybe it mixes all colors into black&white, if you mix all colors it should be black anyway, so maybe it uses colors + black ink at same time lol

i would try looking into different software and/or print settings.
