IGO8 vs TomTom GPS navigation

Post by Sethioz »

i've heard ppl saying that tomtom is very good software for navigating, but what ive seen is different.
i've also heard how one person was doing a 500km circle because of tomtom, but most of all what ive seen myself. TomTom was set to "fastest route" and it showed 65 miles, but igo8 showed 45 miles, while also set to fastest road.
then tomtom said "on a roundabout take 3rd exit" while there was no 3rd exit, however it pointed into right direction, it was still a glitch that it said 3rd exit.
i have been driving over 6000km using igo8 and never had such problems. right now only problem i have is that it is crashing, but it has nothing to do with igo8 itself, it is because GPS is cracked to be used as pocket pc and it has other applications on it too. if i would clean the SD card and put clean igo8 on it, it would work perfectly.
also igo8 seem to be having more features.
i haven't really payed my attention to tomtom before, so i don't really know how easy or hard it is to find maps for it, but igo8 maps are not very easy to find. i still have 03/2009 maps on it, which are not very accurate. some roads (short cuts) are missing, but nothing mayor.
igo8 also shows exact lane information, like a road sign with citys and/or highways on it (like real road signs), while tomtom doesn't show those, sometimes it only shows the arrow in the lane where you have to be.
i dunno about tomtom, but on igo8 you can update all kind of stuff, like POIs (point of interest), speed cameras, restaurants, petrol stations, shopping ..etc. you can download them and simply place on the GPS's memory card or internal memory (card).

I definetly suggest igo8 over tomtom.
