Gamepad Right analog stick Issue

Post by Zeus »

So, i was Playing a game Then the Camera Suddenly started spinning, so i stopped the game unplug the gamepad replug it . it Still givin me the same Problem
so i thought there maybe some problem with game but there wasn't, the problem was with the Gamepad itself.
opened up Game controller Settings in Control panel and there i saw the Right analog behaving lil weird instead of remaining in center its stuck to the RIGHT
I tried everything i could but it didnt help. I dunno what else to do anymore, so if anybody knows anything which could help on this Please let me know.
And jus for the record the right analog stic is in perfect shape its not Loose or anything.

I've had this few times, but what helps is by simply doing a complete circle with the analog, like move it around in full circles, touching all the edges.
I'm guessing you already tried that and i'm guessing you rebooted your PC too?

1st thing to do, try in another PC, if you don't have other PC or laptop, install a virtual machine (virtualbox, virtual PC ..whatever works for you). I saw it says USB, so you can assign it to virtual machine. See if it still does it, if it does, then it's 100% controller and not software, if it works in other pc / virtual pc, then do the following:

what controller is it? if it needs drivers, un-install the drivers + software, then use CCleaner to clean all the temp files and do a registry scan (make sure all options are enabled, except from "wipe free space" or anything else you don't want to wipe, such as browser passwords or whatever you use, just read thru each option in ccleaner, but make sure it cleans all temp files and other junk).
then reboot PC after you done with ccleaner
and then re-install all the drivers + software.

if none of this helps, then it might actually be the controller itself, if nothing else helps, i'd recommend take it apart. maybe one of the controller contacts is dirty or something, unlikely, but possible. Might also be something conductive stuck under the analog's contact and making it do that.

Already Tried on another PC it didnt work so it prolly a hardware problem not software.
guess im gonna have to Open it up to see whats making the Right Analog Behave that way.

PS. irrelevant to the post : why i have to login each time i do something ? like if im posting cmnt i have to login again to make the cmnt ? why is that so?

Yeah if it doesn't work in other PC, then open it up. If you haven't bashed or dropped it, then most likely there's just some dust or dirt in there. If you have noticed, then heavy usage on keyboards and mice will make that grease from your hands to pile up, even if you wash your hands every time you use PC, it still happens. Probably same thing.

As about the login, do not use back / forward buttons in browser or you corrupt the session and there's a timeout limit, if you stay idle for about 5 mins, your session expires and you have to relog. it's for security reasons.
