Thumbs up for Kaspersky anti-virus and their team

For past few months, there is that trojan/virus been circuling around that first spams your messengers (skype and others) with link + attachment and anyone already infected, after a while it hijacks whole windows and shows you screen with warning/notice that you have violated law and have to pay to get your pc "unlocked" again.

or sometimes it just shows white screen and nothing else. I had to fix 2 laptops with this issue and only solution i could find was to re-install whole windows, because none of the anti-viruses detected it.
so today i got a message from friend in skype, sending that "omg you look crazy on this pic, check this out blabla.com/linkhere + attached virus/trojan file"
i instantly knew it wasn't her sending this, so i accepted the file and scanned for viruses, nothing.

Then i sent it to Kaspersky as undetected virus. 5 hours later and Kaspersky was able to detect it!
very fast team, never seen such speed before. well i updated 5 hours later, but maybe they updated even faster. my AV is set to update every 24h (im using zonealarm and it uses kaspersky database).

Sooo that was this shit that fucked me up. For like 1-2 weeks ago my pc quickly turned like only white and said i have to pay like 100€ cuz i watched illegal stuff. *haha* Ofc, fake, so i wanted to start the pc in safe mod but not even that worked. I have read on the internet that there is this "bundespolizei" (just google) virus, that even encrypts all ur data with aes 256, so i got paranoid a bit. Either way, i managed to start it in safe mod, but only command line *seems like it only stops the gui from workin*, and then i could somehow make a system recovery. Either way 4hours lost from my life.

I thought i got it from Tor or mybe a firefox addon.

EDIT: Come to think of it, i didnt even use skype that day, and i never get any spam msgs, so it seems it was a firefox addon or tor...my bet is on the addon though.

yes exactly, in past i fixed 2 laptops with same issue and few others got it too.
i got it over skype from friend, but i knew it right away its one of those spams. ive seen tons of them in MSN back in the days.

only difference, is that this one was not detected by any anti-virus yet.
its been out there for 2-3 months, im surprised i was first one to report it.
