Track / Song recognizer/identifier for PC (same as trackID)

Post by Sethioz »

Some may know that Sony Ericsson phones come with software called trackID that can recognize any song playing (almost any) by simply listening to it and then looking it up from some database. I've been looking for such software on PC and i found one that works quite well.

It's called tunatic. I had some issues with finding download so i have included it in this topic.
Only problem it has, is that it only listens it from microphone and not from PC speakers. easiest way is to just put microphone somewhere where it can "hear" music from speakers, alternative (if you have no mic) is to output PC speakers into microphone. this can be done either using software or hardware.
if you use hardware, you have to just take speaker output and input into microphone input.
with software im not sure, there are tons of them and this is not right topic for it anyway.

obviously this program needs internet to work. it looks songs up from their database.
otherwise i like it. its small and almost no settings. just run it and let it listen and it finds you the song name.

Ive been using it for quite a time. It is really good however if the song is kidna uknown or the quality isnt really good it proaly wont find it. Ive been using another program called "shazam" it is for android (galaxy s2). I think it has a much bigger database or stuff because it found much more songs for me. Ofc if u dont wanan use ur phone to track songs then the upon mentioned program is the way to go.

I know there are tons of tools for phones, but this topic is about having it on PC, not on phones.
