myspace = many funny things... and failure

Post by Sethioz »

even tho a lot of ppl all over the world use myspace.com, it is still a failure.
i just tought i will write few things about myspace. so ppl would see what a joke it is.

Passwords
most ridiculous security failure was that myspace used to save and handle passwords in plain text.
it still does handle passwords in plain text.
if you monitor the packets you can search for this:

Code: Select all

Password_Textbox=
so after "=" sign you will find the password that was sent by user. so basically you can sit in a public area with laptop and put it on monitoring mode and then read user passwords :)

ok the other, even more ridiculous things (it has been fixed now) was that myspace stored all user passwords in plain text into mysql database.
what does it mean ?
it means that if somebody would have had hacked into myspace and downloaded their database, then all user passwords would have had been in plain text. for super beginners:
99% of sites and forums use encryption (mostly MD5) to stored passwords in database.

next thing (fixed now) was that when you clicked on "forgot password", then myspace sent you the original password in plain text.
i hacked lot of paypals and other accounts thanks to this feature :)
i simply "hacked" into ppls email and then requested myspace password and in most cases it was same with the paypal password.
so thanks for their dumbness.

Lag
yes indeed. i don't know if it is for everybody, but for example if you go to my account > http://www.myspace.com/sethioz
and try to scroll the page, then it has huge lag (2-3fps for me).
most likely it is because of poor coding.

Ads and Commercial
i think i do not need to explain this, myspace just sticks their junk everywhere, inlcuding popups.
this is why i use adblock plus :)

User agent / web browser
actually this is what put a point on this, this is why im posting this.
they have added some SUPER RETARDED RETARDNESS to myspace.
they have obviously made some kind of a contract with mozilla firefox (with company).
because myspace does not allow you to use older firefox anymore, it forces you to upgrade by telling you the following RETARDED message:
Please Upgrade Your Browser

MySpace serves many advanced features which require a more modern browser than the one you're currently using.

To get the best experience out of MySpace, please upgrade at this time.
- advanced features ??? what are they totally retarded their brains ?? ..sounds like a retard's bluff to me. like WHAT ? WHAT is there that my 2.0.0.18 firefox can't see/do ? ..i would like those retards to name ONE thing that im not able to see or do because i have older (and 100 times better) firefox ?!

- why is that if i make a custom browser, which tells them fuck off and lick their balls, still works ??? if my browser is so out of date and bad, then how comes it still fucking works lol ? yes .. i just used a old good addon "user agent switcher" and made a custom user agent, and typed there that "you can kiss my ass with your modern browser"

Sethioz ... so i say that once AGAIN. big companys are trying to prevent hacking and make ads more visible with their conspiracy. Let me explain >>> because "modern" firefox does not support some of the VERY good addons anymore. addons like "tamper data" which can be used to hack sites. i can't remember all of them from head, but i remember that i tried FF3 some time ago and i was very unpleased, because i was not able to use lot of my favorite and useful addons. specially the ones that i used to hack and manipulate sites. im sure that only reason for them to force the update, is that FF3 does not support those addons, so ads and commercials are more visible (you cant block them with FF3) and you can't use 'hack' addons to exploit their site. what a joke...
