Why most popular programs have so many bugs ..

Post by Sethioz »

Today i encountered many annoying bugs in thunderbird, thought i do them a favor and report them, but that's where it ended. spent 10 mins trying to find a contact form, there is none.
im not going to signup and read thru 10 pages of shit just to report a damn bug.

so now they won't get my report. most professionals can never bother signing up just to file a bug report.

however i will list them here.

1. when saving emails as (save as...). if i save like 1000 or more of them into same folder and then im not 100% sure if i already saved them or not, going thru 1000 one by one is not something you would do, so just like in windows, i thought i just save them into same place and wait for it to ask "overwrite, skip, cancel" ...but guess what ? no such function. for EACH email it asks "overwrite - cancel" ... clicking something 1000 or more times is fucking annoying and it asks TWICE for each mail. even more annoying.

2. when i have tons of emails in one folder, like 3400 something. I saved them all as, into folder. then i wanted to get rid of them to save disk space (obviously this kind of emails take like 3gb or so in space, they have pics and such in there too). so i did CTRL+A and hit delete. gone, but then after few seconds / minutes, thunderbird started listing them AGAIN, saying something like "downloading email header 10/3400" (and growing). like WTF, i wanted them all GONE and it starts to bug with some header.

anyway, i can't bother signing up on their shit just to report a bug.

its same in most popular programs. bug report should always be without signup, just using a captcha thing to prevent spam.
